E-Enabled Project Citizen is composed of 17 e-lessons covering the Project Citizen curricular program in both Arabic and English. Through the Project Citizen Program students in grades 6-10 will understand their system of government, acquire the knowledge, skills and ability to become active members of society and will gain an understanding of the fundamental values and principles of the constitution. Consequently, these students will become upfront and responsible citizens capable of participating competently and responsibly in the Jordanian political system.

Project Citizen provides a practical, first-hand approach to learning about the system of government and how to monitor and influence it. Working together with other students in classrooms students will conduct research in their community to discover problems that they think the government is not handling at all or not handling well. Then they will select a problem from among those that have been identified and work cooperatively to

Conduct research on the problem

Identify alternative solutions to the problem and weigh their advantages and disadvantages

Propose a solution to the problem that requires governmental action and does not violate provisions of the constitution

Propose an action plan to influence the appropriate governmental bodies to consider or adopt the proposed solution to the problem.

Once these tasks are completed, students will record the results of their work on a portfolio and in a documentation binder. Then they will take part in a simulated public hearing in which they will present the results of their work to a panel of representatives of the community.
